The Molangs were back in Whistler for the long weekend! This time, we stayed at the Summit Lodge (highly recommended boutique hotel, by the way). On Sunday morning, we decided to have breakfast at one of the restaurants downstairs – Elements Urban Tapas Parlour.
We ordered hearty dishes that jump started our day!
Baked frittata – $14
This was hot and soft in the middle, and caramelized slightly on the outside. We ordered the one with pancetta, roasted red peppers, and goat cheese. The goat cheese was a bit strong, but the flavour combination with other ingredients worked well. Don’t be fooled by the picture, the frittata alone was deceptively filling.
On the side was a potato tartlet. It was a large, fancy tater tot with a delicious chive sour cream to balance.
Every breakfast dish came with a refreshing shot of fruit smoothie (in our case, it was raspberry). We thought this was a neat little addition to our breakfast.
Honey ham & brie stuffed French toast – $15
Sweet & savoury heaven! They gave us large chunks of bread that had varied textures; soft on the inside, and crusty on the outside. Stuffed inside the toast were slices of honey ham and gooey brie. On the side was real Canadian maple syrup for your drizzling pleasure. Again, this dish also came with a shot of fruit smoothie, and it was perfect for washing down the heavy flavours of the French toast.
