Spanish tapas! We’ve been meaning to come to Bodega for a while now. For lunch, we decided to order 1 meat dish, 1 seafood dish, 1 vegetarian dish, and 1 paella.
Mojama (the seafood) – $12
Cured tuna + olive oil + dried fruit chutney. The fish was quite salty, and the flavour and texture reminded me of mentaiko and prosciutto.

Pincho Moruno (the meat) – $19
This was a beef skewer. The marinade was like pesto, as it had a strong basil taste. Texture-wise, the steak was a bit inconsistent; two pieces were slightly chewy, and the other two were perfectly tender.
Baked Eggplants (sorry, forgot the name!) – $12
Eggplants baked in honey. We really enjoyed this dish, as it had a nice crispy exterior, and a soft/gooey interior.
Paella Negra – $38
No, it wasn’t burnt. The rice was cooked with squid ink! First impression was that the rice was perfectly seasoned. This paella had some of the best-cooked squid we’ve ever hard. It was really tender.

Tasty Spanish tapas, but portions are a bit too small to justify the high prices.
